PD Dr. Dethardt Müller
Dethardt Müller is a senior expert in the biopharmaceutical industry with profound knowledge in the development and implementation of innovative manufacturing processes for therapeutic proteins and virus-based biologics. Prior to joining Abalos as CTO, he was Head of CMC at ViraTherapeutics in Innsbruck, now part of Boehringer Ingelheim, focusing on the development, transfer and scale-up of the clinical GMP manufacturing process for the oncolytic virus VSV-GP.
Before that, Dethardt served more than seven years as Head of Process Science and Technology at Rentschler Biopharma. In this role he has overseen relevant projects in the field of recombinant cell line development using targeted integration, single-use technologies and their impact on process performance and safety, and Quality by Design in bioprocess development using multivariate methods for process design, analysis and control.
Dethardt gained his scientific expertise in biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing as Assistant Professor at the BOKU University Vienna where he received his PhD in Biotechnology and his Habilitation in Bioprocess Engineering.
