Gründerfonds Ruhr is a new investment vehicle funded by several large corporates out of Europe´s most heavily industrialized region, the Ruhr area / Ruhrgebiet. After a successful 1st closing commitments sum up to more than 30 million €.
Its investment focus lies on the most important key industries of the Ruhrgebiet like energy, chemicals, life sciences as well as digital / IT and logistics. Gründerfonds Ruhr LPs are NRW.BANK, Brost-Stiftung, Evonik, innogy, Kötter Group, NATIONAL-BANK, Phoenix Beteiligungsgesellschaft, RAG-Stiftung, Ruhr24, SMS group and thyssenkrupp. The fund is managed by NRW.BANK´s venture capital team.
